Donor Relations Manager

Reports to Executive Director

The Donor Relations Manager will perform various tasks to support all programs and services provided by Aunt Rita's Foundation.

The Donor Relations Manager’s primary responsibilities include proactively identifying new donors and funding opportunities and stewarding existing donors. “Donors” are identified as individuals, corporations, businesses, foundations, and other grant and/or event sponsorship funders. To be successful in this role, you should be outgoing, detail-oriented, well-organized, have excellent time management skills, multi-task, and work independently, under the supervision and guidance of the Executive Director.

Ultimately, you will contribute to the financial sustainability of our organization by being an ambassador to the organization through interpersonal and professional donor relationships. This role will work to coordinate and create content and experiences that ultimately increase revenue for the organization.

DONOR STEWARDSHIP

  • Restructure, manage, and assess the Aunt Rita’s individual sustaining donor program, Red Purse Club, achieving a minimum of a 10% increase of new Red Purse Club members AND achieving at least a 90% retention rate of existing members within the first 12 months of employment.

  • Oversee the tracking and implementation of Red Purse Club member-exclusive benefits.

  • Plan, implement, and assess Aunt Rita’s annual fund campaigns.

  • Lead all donor communication and stewardship efforts via Aunt Rita’s

    newsletter, social media, handwritten notes, and other digital correspondence,

    working closely with the Operations and Development Manager.

  • Develop and manage multi-channel fundraising campaigns including Arizona Gives Day, Aunt Rita’s Summer FUN-Raiser, Giving Tuesday, and Aunt Rita’s 12 Days of Giving.

  • Oversee a portfolio of recurring and individual donors who give up to $9,999, including prospect identification, prospect research, and moves management.

  • Work closely with the Aunt Rita’s Executive Director to identify and cultivate major individual donors; those who give $10,000 or more.

  • Work closely with Aunt Rita’s Operations and Development Manager to maintain accurate donor records, generate gift and donor reports, and prepare gift acknowledgments.

    FUNDRAISING EVENTS

  • Working closely with the Aunt Rita’s Program and Events Manager, assist in executing all fundraising events, specifically taking lead and overseeing sponsorship acquisitions, in-kind donations, guest communications, collateral, sponsor recognition, donor registration, gift acknowledgment and recognition, budgeting and tracking, vendor relationships, and post-event follow up and analysis.

  • Attend outreach events, educational sessions, community, and internal events, representing the organization as needed.

  • Create and maintain fundraising event forms, processes, and procedures as needed.

  • Submit and track invoices for payment related to assigned fundraising events, campaigns, and projects.

    GRANT WRITING

  • Manage all grant funding efforts as it pertains to private foundations, corporations, third-party fundraisers, and public/government opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain a grants tracker and calendar for all funding requests using existing software platform.

  • Create a comprehensive strategy for conducting prospect research that aligns with the Aunt Rita’s Foundation strategic plan, agency budget, style guide, and fund development goals.

  • Manage project timelines and meetings to ensure that all project and grant submission deadlines are met.

  • Develop forms, processes, procedures, grant tracking tools, and policies to implement a consistent grant application methodology.

  • Work with Executive Director to ensure consistent and timely execution of grant agreements, contracts, and relevant budget and reporting requirements.

RELATIONSHIPS

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL

  • Steward relationships with grant funders through in-person meetings and written communications.

  • Work with Executive Director to develop reporting tools and policies to ensure efficient and effective data for specific grant funded programs.

    The Donor Relations Manager position involves engaging with a diverse group of individuals, such as staff and volunteers, Board of Directors members, employees from supported organizations, donors, and the public. Additionally, this role will include interactions with program participants and the wider community served by Aunt Rita's.

    • Demonstrate an updated and ongoing understanding of Aunt Rita’s philanthropy, programs, and initiatives.

    • Have an updated and ongoing understanding of HIV prevention/treatment data and trends, both on a local and national level.

    • Always maintain a professional performance, demeanor, and appearance.

    • Possess an ongoing awareness of team members’ capacity to assist in even

      distribution of work.

    • Recognize and participate in “all-hands-on-deck” scenarios (i.e., events,

      etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum three years of related work experience with bachelor’s degree OR minimum five years of related work experience without bachelor’s degree.

• A strong desire to work in a non-profit organization and a commitment to its mission.

• Superior attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
• Advanced communications skills, verbal and written, including public speaking. • The position requires an in-depth knowledge of specific Microsoft Office

programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint. Familiarity with

additional tools such as Boomerang and Salesforce is also essential.
• Flexibility to work evenings and some weekend days, as required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capability to work at a fast pace while multitasking and maintaining accuracy. • Comfortable in a social setting when needed.

The Donor Relations Manager position is a full-time (40 hour per week average) salaried position and receives a $60 monthly cell phone reimbursement, potential performance-based annual incentive, and full employee benefits.

Salary dependent upon the incumbent’s qualifications.
